Mauritius GPS Wingfoil speed Challenge 2025.

The speed challenge year starts from 1/10/24 for the calendar year until 30/09/2025. Rules are based on your fastest average speeds over a 100 metre wingfoil run during the season in Mauritius waters only [*Rodrigues Island is included since it is part of Mauritius].

A fun level based challenge for individuals to freely participate & purely reliant on ones own self interest in this particular aspect of the sport. The fastest 100 metre speed within the scheduled year attains the title of ‘Mauritius Fastest GPS speed Wingfoiler Mauritius 2025’. Subsequent years similarly attribute each respective years *fastest individuals 100m recorded & verified runs. 

Anybody in Mauritian waters can upload and enter their wingfoiling recorded speed sessions to this event challenge ladder & view/compare results against friends and other wingfoiling participants on the island. *For an official speed ranking you must submit your gps speeds from a recognised device and speeds uploaded with the correct settings.

Please be careful to upload your speeds to the correct Mauritius ‘wingfoil’ based speed challenge (i.e. don’t mistakenly upload to the ‘Mauritius speed challenge’ or the ‘Mauritius foiling speed surfing challenge’ both of which cater for windsurfing style sails, booms, masts.

Downwind wingboards and wingsups with foils are permitted in this challenge but must be accompanied with & derived their respective recorded speed sessions with handwings. 

E-foil types or motorized/mechanically driven foils are not permitted in this challenge. It is strictly for wind assisted power derived from handheld wings.

(At this time the newer parawing wings are not for inclusion in this challenge since it is unclear as yet wether these are clearly within the wing (i.e. air inflatable wings) and or are a new segment concept of foiling Watersports). 

The challenge title is only granted to locally residing residents on the island (but island visitors are very welcome to participate & upload & their recorded speed sessions to this fun level event)

The (official) speed title is necessarily recognized & attributed to participants speed recording devices that contain the error Doppler correction feature such as GT31, GW60, Motion unit among several other watch style devices that contain it. **While Another fastest speed title is granted at the Fun level based on a comparison of fastest speeds from all participating speedsters device recordings submitted on the event ladder regardless of wether devices used contain the Doppler error correction feature or not (the fun level, local island level title, runs parallel to this event but does not carry with it the official island/national title for this event challenge year. That official gps speed title is only reserved/awarded to this event ladder entries i.e. powered by this website, gpswingfoiling.com, and final winners , communications throughout the challenge year is regulated through Mauritius GPS Wingfoil speed at local island, country level. 

This challenge assumes no responsibility/liability for anyone participating since it is ones personal choice to record ones own speed and submit recordings during any water sessions to this free challenge kindly hosted on this website platform to provide a comparative ladder.
